The Death Penalty Should be Abolished

I have extant views when attorning to present phenomenons which fill up a vast majority of life in this day and age. In this essay I will present my aspect on the issues with the death penalty and how it impacts society.

Firstly, the death penalty, formally known as Capital punishment is a legal process whereby a person is put to death by the state as a punishment for a crime. It is a medicine for lawful revenge.  The judicial decree that someone be punished in this manner is a death sentence, while the actual enforcement is an execution. The most common countries who adopt this procedure are Saudi Arabia, China, Iran, Iraq and the U.S.A. Some question if the agenda is really necessary as there are other methods such as, life imprisonment where a prisoner may die naturally.

The only country that administers this procedure having membership to the G7 is the USA. The United Nations (UN) has urged the United States to immediately favour a moratorium on the death penalty.

In some cases such as Clayton Lockett 38,there have been many botched torture executions, Clayton was declared unconscious 10 minutes after the first of Oklahoma’s new three-drug injection combination was administered. Three minutes later, he began breathing heavily, clenching his teeth and lifting his head off the pillow. The blinds were eventually lowered to prevent family and friends witnessing such a gruesome death.  Thereon Lockett had died of a heart attack……

  1. Hi Qasim. In your introduction you need to outline your overall standpoint on this issue and summarise your main supporting arguments. With your second paragraph, why has this information been included. Each paragraph needs to be linked back to your main argument. In your third paragraph you need to explain why you have used this information. It is very interesting and shocking but how does this support your overall argument?
